ADVISOR Mr. Rogers
MEMBERSHIP: No maximum 
PURPOSE/AIMS: Students that enjoy using art mediums in a social environment.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Community Art activities, High School Art activities, District-wide Art Show
TIME COMMITMENT: Meet once per week.
COST: None

ADVISOR Mr. Dettmann
MEMBERSHIP: No maximum
PURPOSE/AIMS: Students that enjoy using computer and video games networked 
together in a social environment.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Monthly video game nights after school. School wide computer 
dating survey with compatibility results.
TIME COMMITMENT: Meet 1-2 times per month.
COST: None

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
MEMBERSHIP: Students must be enrolled in a business class during the current school year.
PURPOSE/AIMS: To promote community projects and do fundraising together.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Candy grams for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Fall, Winter and Spring concessions and other types of fundraising efforts. Assist in Richland Area community projects.
TIME COMMITMENT: Before school meetings about two times per month and after school as needed. One or two days for field trips at the end of the year. Points are given for all events and fundraising efforts, and students must earn a minimum number of points to attend the field trip.
COST: The club usually pays.

FFA (Future Farmers of America) 
MEMBERSHIP: Students must be enrolled in an agriculture class.
PURPOSE/AIMS: To promote agriculture through educational & recreational activities.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: We have between 15-20 activities each year. Some are for entertainment and some are agriculture related. Some activities include: Donkey basketball, pool tournaments, U.W. - Madison FFA Hockey night, video night, ice fishing tournament, giant pumpkin contest, big buck contest, tree planting, dairy judging, fruit sale, conservation plantings, Pheasant project, and Pine River cleanup project.
TIME COMMITMENT: To receive awards in participation one needs to participate in at least 8 activities.
COST: $15.50 membership fee/ Free to students will a Agriculture Education plan.

DIRECTOR Mrs. Mulholland
ASSISTANT DIRECTORS Mr. Ostrander and Ms. Swanson
MEMBERSHIP: 35-40 – limited to 25 events by WHSFA rules
PURPOSE/AIMS: Produces better speakers for the future. Some tournament and competitions are included.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Students compete at elimination contests-Sub-district and District, and must achieve a minimum score to go on. State contest requires certain scores for medals.
TIME COMMITMENT: Approximately 1 hour per week for individual practice sessions. Scheduling for practice sessions is very flexible. One Friday contest, one Saturday contest and one Monday evening contest. Forensics begins the week after the Christmas break and ends after the state tournament in April.
COST: None

MEMBERSHIP: No maximum
PURPOSE/AIMS: To give students a better understanding of how the stock market works, how the economy affects the stock market, and what is involved in making investments in the stock market or in other areas.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Stock Market Simulation twice a year. Concessions & other fundraising as needed. Occasional trip to Chicago or some other area.
TIME COMMITMENT: Before school meetings during the Stock Market Simulation Game.
COST: We do at least two fundraisers on a yearly basis in order to help offset costs.

CO-ADVISORS Mrs. Wiinamaki and Mrs. Fry
MEMBERSHIP: No maximum
PURPOSE/AIMS: To help out in school and community service. To encourage student leadership, service and character.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Mentor program at Jefferson Elem School (Big Buddy Program) Assist Kiwanis Club with concessions at Rodeo, County Fair, and Community events. Key Leader Conference, Eliminate Project, Bell Ringing, Lights in the Park, Lincoln Elem Babysitting, Roadside Cleanup, etc.
TIME COMMITMENT: At least 10 hours of volunteering. Monthly meetings held the 2nd
Tuesday of the month at 7:50 a.m. in room 112. Big Buddy activity
once a month on the second Wednesday of the month after school. Many volunteer opportunities available. 
COST: $3.00

NHS (National Honor Society)
CO-ADVISORS Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Mulholland
MEMBERSHIP: Students in grades 10-12 may apply if their cumulative G.P.A. is 3.25 & up. Students must have volunteerism/service hours.

TIME COMMITMENT: Meet once a month before school in the study hall room

CO-ADVISORS Ms. Selgeby and Mrs. Tyl
MEMBERSHIP: No maximum
PURPOSE/AIMS: To promote school spirit/climate
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Make and post hall signs, plan pep assemblies, create special events for the school, celebrate school history.
TIME COMMITMENT: Most meetings held within the school day. Some activities may occur outside of school hours.
COST: None

CO-ADVISORS Ms. Selgeby and Mrs. Tyl
MEMBERSHIP: No maximum
PURPOSE/AIMS: To provide students with the best prevention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, other drug use, risky & impaired driving, and other decisions.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Make signs. Special activities before dances & graduation. 
TIME COMMITMENT: Meetings and most activities are during the school day. Some activities may take place in the evening.
COST: None 

ADVISOR Mrs. Tjossem
MEMBERSHIP: No maximum
PURPOSE/AIMS: Introduce students to careers through a variety of field trips. 
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Schoolwide recycling, field trips, and fundraising 
TIME COMMITMENT: Meetings and recycling during homeroom, field trips during school day, fundraising at school or at sporting events.
COST: Students pay field trip expenses.

MEMBERSHIP: No maximum - Open to everyone. You do not have to be in a Spanish class to join.
PURPOSE/AIMS: To explore cultural diversity, Hispanic traditions, and celebrate the Spanish language.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Looking into different options for activities this year. They will be language or cultural themed. Mr. Yeung is open to suggestions!
TIME COMMITMENT: Meet 1-2 times per month. Meetings will be after school or during homeroom. 
COST: None

MEMBERSHIP: Elected/Meet with Advisor(s)
PURPOSE/AIMS: Develop student initiative, leadership and responsibility. Provide for better communication and understanding between student and staff members. Provide means for practice in parliamentary usage and in practical democratic citizenship. Further the betterment of school spirit and loyalty.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: An annual project list of individual projects is available as well as major annual projects including homecoming, blood drive & triviathon among others.
TIME COMMITMENT: Bi-monthly council meetings. Involvement & participation in projects as well.

MEMBERSHIP: No maximum
PURPOSE/AIMS: To provide leadership and skill development for vocational and technical students. To develop professional skills needed to enter the job market.
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Full or part-day field trips to industry locally and other areas in the state. Club work nights to work on class projects, fundraising and community projects. Attend state conference and leadership lab, attend Regional leadership labs.
TIME COMMITMENT: Occasional meetings and during the day. 30 minutes to several hours per week depending on projects.
COST: $7.00 dues state and regional, no local dues. Small fees for overnight conferences.

PURPOSE/AIMS: To publish the school Yearbook (The Hornet)
GROUP ACTIVITIES: Layout and captioning of the Yearbook using In Design, Photography for Yearbook.
TIME COMMITMENT: After-school meetings every Monday from September through April.
COST: None
